Ways To Cope With Overthinking

  1. Check the Facts of the thought

    Differentiate the difference between what is a fact with evidence vs what is a catastrophic thought.

  2. Prioritize your thoughts

    Organize the thoughts from most important to least important to prevent yourself from just spiraling and getting lost in your thoughts.

  3. Focus on just one thought at a time

    Multitasking in general is unhelpful and when you can just focus on one thought, you are better able to come up with solutions.

  4. Identify whether the thought is helpful or harmful

    We have thousands of thoughts a day. More than 1/2 are negative & harmful. Having awareness and calling out those thoughts can be helpful.
